Jon Wygens is an award winning composer for Film and Television. A graduate of the National film and Television School his feature films include FLYING BLIND starring Helen McCrory, MISS CHRISTINA, one of the most successful Romanian films of 2013 (for which Jon received a GOPO award for Best Score), and PERMANENCIA which premiered at Rio International Film Festival 2014. Short film work includes THE PROCESSION staring Lily Tomlin and Lucy Punch and INFIDEL, which won Best UK Short at the 2009 Raindance Film Festival. His Television work includes THE MURDER TRIAL which won awards for best documentary at the BAFTA TV Craft, Royal Television Society and Broadcast awards 2014 as well as the theme tune and music for the phenomenally popular series GREAT BRITISH RAILWAY JOURNEYS. Jon works from his studio in Shoreditch in London's east end.

Jon wins Best Score at GOPO Awards
Jon's score for Domnisoara Christina has won the award for best score at the 2014 Romanian GOPO Awards
Jon has scored the Brazillian feature film PermanÍncia for Trincheira Films. A beautiful film about love, loss, longing and searching the film premiered at the Rio International Film Festival 2014.
The Murder Trial
The Channel 4 documentary The Murder Trial, scored by Jon, has won both the BAFTA and RTS Award for Best Single Documentary. Directed by Nick Holt for Windfall Films, cameras were allowed to record a High Court trial for the first time.
Domnisoara Christina (Miss Christiana)
Jon has scored the Romanian feature film Domnisoara Christina , a gothic drama based on the classic novella by Mircea Elliade. The film received a general release to great acclaim in its native country in November 2013.
Flying Blind
Jon has scored the feature film Flying Blind , a passionate post 9/11 love story starring Helen McCrory (Skyfall) and Najib Oudghiri (Rendition). The film was released nationally in the UK April 2013.Click here to view the trailer
The Procession

Jon has recently scored The Procession, a comedy written and directed by Robert Festinger and starring Lily Tomlin and Lucy Punch. The film was released in cinemas in the US as part of the feature presentation Stars In Shorts.

Damned wins major award
Richard Phelan's delightful and witty animation Damned, scored by Jon, has won the award for Best Post Graduate Animation at the 2012 Royal Television Society Awards and was nominated for a MPSE Golden Reel award for it's soundtrack. You can see the film here (9m): Damned
White As Snow (Kar Beyaz)
A song co-composed by Jon has appeared in the Turkish Film White As Snow (Kar Beyaz) . The song "Mircans Lullaby" was written with Mircan Kaya who was awarded best film music award at the Antalya International Film Festival 2010 for her score to the film.
Elephants Dream
Jon has scored and music supervised Elephants Dream, a feature documentary filmed in Kinshasa, DR Congo by film maker Kristof Bilsen.
London Internatonal Film Festival
Jon has composed the music and sound design for the official trailer for the 2011 London International Animation Festival, directed by Daniela Negrin Ochoa, which you can watch here: LIAF. Two films Jon has scored also feature in the festival: Damned and El Macho, also by Daniela.
Jon has just completed a two year Masterís degree at the prestigious National Film and Television School,following in the footsteps of Oscar winning composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement), Trevor Jones (The Last of the Mohicans) and Rob Lane (The Damned United).
