Jon Wygens is an award winning composer for film and television. His films have received awards at major festivals internationally and he has scored many successful television productions in the UK and abroad. He is a graduate in composition at the National Film and Television School and lives and works in London.


 
 
The Procession

Jon has recently scored The Procession, a comedy written and directed by Robert Festinger and staring Academy Award nominated actress Lily Tomlin. The film premiers at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in April.

Jon has recently scored a feature documentary The Real Social Network with fellow composer Alcyona Mick. The film is a timely and exciting look at the events and people behind the recent student anti cuts protests.The Real Social Network Website.
   
Damned Festival Nominations
Richard Phelan's delightful and witty animation has been nominated for an MPSE Golden Reel Award 2012 in Los Angeles and has also been shortlisted for the 2012 British Animation Awards.You can read an interview with director Richard Phelan here. Jon's highly praised score combines a full Orchestra with Banjos and Guitars to delightful effect, as you can hear in this excerpt:

             
 
White As Snow (Kar Beyaz)
A song co-composed by Jon has appeared in the Turkish Film White As Snow (Kar Beyaz). The song "Mircans Lullaby" was written with Mircan Kaya who was awarded best film music award at 47th Antalya International Golden Orange Film Festival in October 2010 for her score to the film.Watch the trailer featuring the song here: White As Snow
   
White Elephant
Jon scored this documentary about the Central Post-Office and its employees in Kinshasa, DR Congo by film maker Kristof Bilsen. The film is now in development as a full length feature. For more information www.roastbeeftv.com/news.

London Internatonal Film Festival
Jon has composed the music and sound design for the official trailer for the 2011 London International Animation Festival, directed by Daniela Negrin Ochoa, which you can watch here: LIAF. Two films Jon has scored also feature in the festival: Damned and El Macho, also by Daniela.
