The Durrells is a comedy-drama based on the hugely popular autobiographical books by Gerald Durrell which chronicle the adventures of himself and his eccentric family who move from Bournemouth to the Greek island of Corfu in the mid 1930s.

This marked the beginning of my long standing collaboration with Ruth Barrett. Ruth, who I had only met briefly beforehand, asked me to help her with the pitch for the series. My abilities on and ownership of various mandolins may have been a factor in this. The pitch was successful and we went on to co-compose 4 seasons. The series was a big hit and incredibly enjoyable to score.
